My wedding gown—entreasure or sell?

by sunny on Dec.28, 2009, under Announcements

For every woman, wedding dress is a special dress which would be worn only once in her life. After the wedding, they shall be kept as a keepsake. However, some brides think about selling their bridal gowns, because maybe it is no useful anymore or something else. How to go about doing this?
There are lots of ways to unload your modest wedding gown once the wedding is over. First, post your offer on The Knot Message Boards, describing your bridal dresses and a way for brides-to-be to get in touch with you. Or, contact some consignment shops or gown rental boutiques, who either sell the lace wedding dress for you and keep part of the profit, or who buy the gown directly from you (often at a much lower price than what you paid for it) for resale. Lastly, utilize the many auction web sites on the Internet (hello, eBay!) — you can sell not only your wedding dresses, but any other wedding accessories you don’t feel like hanging onto anymore!
However I think to most women the unique wedding dress is worthy and memorable, because the wedding gown she wore on her big day witnessed her most beautiful moment in her whole life! I tend to keep my precious vintage wedding gown as a heirloom from generation to generation!

How to choose a good photographer within your budget?

by sunny on Dec.28, 2009, under Announcements

There are a lot of jobs involved why your wedding day is a very special one.One of those important jobs belong to the wedding photographer.Since it is an important part of your wedding you should choose a good one. Do you know how to choose a good photographer within your budget?
I have seen the ways couples have gone about trying to choose ones. From my experience here are a couple of key points to look at when deciding.
First thing you should know is the budget you can spend for a photographer. It would not do you any good if you find someone you like but is very expensive for you to afford. Once you have decided how much your budget would be then that is the time you can pare down the choices that you have. Of course since it is such a special day my opinion as a San Diego wedding photographer is to now worry about price.Price should not be an object since we are talking about a photgrapher here that would capture the most magical day of a couples life. But if price is involved in the decison making then you should determine how much you can spend in this part of your wedding.Once you determine your budget then it would be easier to look for a photographer. And if you want to save your budget, an affordable wedding gown is necessary as well. Don’t know where to get a cheap wedding dress with good quality? http://www.wholesale-weddingdress.com/ is your first choice! There is a large selection of wedding gowns for you to choose from! Enjoy!

Your wedding dresses should be casual enough to have a beach wedding

by sunny on Dec.28, 2009, under Announcements

It will not be very comfortable for the bride to have a ten foot train on her dress in a beach wedding. The challenge is to choose a great dress for your body shape, but taking into account that the wedding will be celebrated on the beach.
Which are the best places to find a great casual beach wedding dress? Bridal shops or magazines are the first natural choice. Shops have specific departments for casual dresses, and something similar happens with magazines, there will certainly be some pages or an entirely number dedicated to casual wedding dresses.
There is something interesting about beach wedding dresses, it does not need to be a wedding dress. If you have a traditional wedding on a church , the tradition says that you should wear a traditional dress, and probably you have never dreamed to wear something different. But on the beach you have the possibility to wear any dress that fits with the theme of the wedding. If you are on a tight budget, this can be great news as this type of wedding gown is more affordable than the traditional ones.
It is also important to think about the shoes you will be wearing. You should consider using shoes suitable to be used in sand, which will be different from the ones you would use on an indoor wedding. There is another option, many couples decide to go completely barefoot, not wearing any shoes.
Finally, it is not recommended the use of veil as part of your beach wedding dress. It depends on the location of your beach wedding, but wind can be very strong at the beach and you will feel uncomfortable. You can adorn your head with flowers instead, it will make you look great and you will not have to think about weather.

Are you ready to shine for your prom night?

by sunny on Dec.28, 2009, under Announcements

If there’s ever a time to shine, it’s prom. You’re all dressed up, you’ve worked hard on your hair and makeup, and so on.
1. Volunteer to contribute any theme songs that are appropriate for the theme of the prom. Factors to consider include upbeat dance music for the beginning of the evening, some relaxing movie for rest times and the slow, weepy stuff towards the end.
2. Pick out the prom dress or outfit to wear by choosing the perfect color that suits you. You don’t need to spend lots of money – check out local thrift stores for great bargains and you can alter them with stitches, brooches, ribbon, velvet, bows, lace etc.
3. Choose your shoes several weeks earlier and wear them in at home. There’s nothing worse than blisters on the night from new shoes scraping your feet to shreds! It dampens the fun, the energy and even the romance.
4. If you’re having your hair done, book the hairdresser early to avoid lack of appointments. Ask your hairdresser in advance for some suggestions on styles so that you don’t turn up on the afternoon still not knowing what you want. And if you don’t want to get your hair done – don’t then! Well-brushed, washed hair is just as attractive left as it is, be it long or short. You can add hair jewelry if desired.
5. Match your makeup and accessories with your prom dress. Decide on these a few days before the prom night, in case you need to purchase new or different things.
6. Get friends over to help with makeup and dressing on the evening – it’s a lot of fun and many hands make light work. You can turn up together and have strength in numbers for a “wow” of an entrance!
7. Get parents or friends to drive to the prom (parents usually understand to keep their distance!). Make sure you have arrangements to get home safely.
8. Enter the prom with a positive, happy attitude, ready to enjoy the night and be with your friends and classmates.
Come on! Girls! Now are ready to shine yourself for this wonderful prom night! Your night!

Let’s find out your ultimate prom dress!

by sunny on Dec.28, 2009, under Announcements

Why not make your prom night one of those times with a beautifully flattering, perfect prom dress? Read on to find out how.
Body Type
Body type is an important consideration when shopping for an online prom dress. In fact some might say that this is THE most important consideration when shopping. You definitely want to select a dress that matches your body type. Don’t pick a dress just because it looks good on the model displaying it on the net. Why? You probably have a different body type than she does. You should choose a gown that will play up your best features.
Consider your body. It is curvy? An hourglass shape often (characterized by a large bust, small waste and curvy hips) is one common body type. Maybe it’s boyish (straighter waist, narrow hips and smaller bust). Are you round all over? Perhaps you are pear shaped (larger on the bottom than on the top). Take a minute to check out your body and decide on the shape. Then you can choose a prom dress that will flatter it.
Here are some prom dress selections for different body types:
Hourglass – Hourglass figures are lucky, they usually look good in almost anything. Consider strapless or halter top dresses, those with sashes and cinched waists.
Straight – If you have a boyish figure, you’ll want to try avoiding body hugging dresses that might emphasize your squarer figure. Try an A-line dress that is slightly fitted which will help add volume and curves. Open shoulders are a good option. Consider a dress with a flared skirt.
Rounded – For rounder figured women there are many flattering dresses. Consider ones with a drop waist and low neckline. A low neckline helps enhance the bust and the drop waist lengthens your torso. An empire cut dress is also flattering because it lengthens the body and figure overall. You might try pairing this with a slightly flared skirt.
Pear Shaped – A-line prom dresses that are straight cut and empire waists are good selections for this body shape, because they lengthen the legs and torso, giving the appearance of balance and height.
Sizing
How do you know what size to buy? Size is actually a big problem for many women. The closer to your actual size you get the less likely you’ll need alterations. That said keep in mind that manufacturers sizes vary. You may be a size 10 normally, but that may be an 8 in some dresses and a 12 in others. So how do you know which to buy? Fortunately almost all dresses listed online will have a manufacturers sizing chart handy!! You can figure out your size by taking your bust, waist and hip measurements. Then match up your measurements with those on the chart and you’ll have your size!
